Mikumi National Park

Adjacent to the Selous ecosystem and less than a four-hour drive from Dar es Salaam, Mikumi National Park is one of Tanzania’s most accessible parks. Despite its accessibility, it offers a well-preserved wilderness experience. Covering an area of 3,230 square kilometers, it features strong populations of wildlife, including lions, zebras, and wildebeests, which are often seen on the Mkata Floodplain—the park’s wildlife centerpiece. The park’s landscape is dotted with baobab, tamarind, and acacia trees, providing a scenic backdrop for safari goers.
